Sailing
Our “Introduction to Sailing” (ITS), ISSA program is the perfect starting point for new sailors with a choice of Lazer and Optimist training. This two to four-day course will immerse you in the basics of sailing, including:
- Understanding how boats sail
- Learning essential skills to control the boat
- Executing basic maneuvers with confidence
Upon completing the course, you’ll leave as a novice sailor with a passion for the sport. Successful participants receive a certificate recognizing their new skills.
Instructor-Led Learning Our skilled instructors combine practical instruction and theoretical teaching, maximizing on-water learning time in RSYC’s Farr Platu 25 yachts. Schedule Courses are available upon request and can be arranged on both weekdays and weekends.

Power Boating and Fishing
Fishing in Malaysia is growing in popularity, and RSYC provides the perfect base for fishing enthusiasts. With its prime location on the Straits of Malacca and the surrounding Port Klang islands, there are numerous exciting fishing spots to explore. Whether you're a seasoned angler or a beginner, RSYC offers both short and long fishing trips suitable for all skill levels.
Fishing Spots:
- Mangrove Inlets: Explore locations like Pulau Ketam, Pulau Indah, and nearby local islands.
- Offshore Fishing: Travel to One Fathom Bank for a true sea fishing adventure.

RSYC’s fishing section is highly active, with regular competitions and attractive prizes. The Club offers a secure yard for storing powerboats used for fishing trips, along with launch and retrieval services via our dedicated slipway and tractor.
For those without their own boats, members can charter a boat with a skipper for the day from local operators or join a group fishing trip. Newcomers to the sport can always rely on the guidance of our experienced fishermen, who are happy to offer advice.
